The workshop in Negotino
Four steps, in this order: season the wood, then draw the piece, join it and oil it.
SOBA is a solid wood furniture workshop in Negotino. We make a few pieces, each to order, in ash, oak or walnut.
Before the first board is cut, the piece is drawn to its true dimensions. The drawings on this site are those drawings.
How we work
Seasoning
Ash, oak and walnut season outdoors for at least two years, stacked with sticks between the rows so air reaches every face.

Every piece is drawn to its true dimensions, front and side, before anything is cut. The measurements on the drawing are the measurements of the piece.

The joints are glued mortise and tenon. The tenon fills the mortise, so the joint holds without screws.

Every surface is sanded and oiled twice with hardwax oil. At home it takes the same oil once a year.
